Location History
Three different cultures (Greek, Jewish, Ottoman) have left their traces and influenced the historical core of the city. During the Roman Empire, a period of full heyday of the city, glorious buildings were built, ruins of which are still preserved (Rotonda, Arch of Galerius, the Roman Forum, the imperial palaces).
